The state administration announced that all dongle services, bulk SMS, and mobile internet will be unavailable in seven districts until Monday, February 19.
Ambala, Kurukshetra, Kaithal, Jind, Hisar, Fatehabad, and Sirsa are the districts that are impacted.
The earlier ban on mobile internet was extended on February 13 and 15 by the administration led by Manohar Lal Khattar . As the sixth day of the protest approaches, the farmers in protest have remained where they are at the Shambhu and Khanauri points on Punjab's border with Haryana.
Government asks for discussion time
Leaders of the Punjab Kisan Mazdoor Sangharsh Committee stated on Sunday, February 18, that the Centre had requested some time to talk with the union ministers about the issue.We have been at the Shambhu border for six days now. We're also having our fourth round of negotiations with the government today. General secretary Sarvan Singh Pandher of the committee stated on Sunday that "the government has asked for some time and said that it will discuss the matter with the union ministers and find a solution to it."
Union Agriculture Minister Arjun Munda had earlier said on Friday, February 16, that talks with farmers will pick back up on Sunday and that they are still working to find a solution.

Munda stated that when making the choice, they will need to take into account all pertinent information.
"The choice must not be made in a way that will lead to people criticising the circumstances in the days to come without giving it some thought. Instead, we ought to make an effort to consider every angle and have a conversation about it. He continued, "There should be no disruptions to the people's everyday lives.
2024 farmers' protest: What demands do farmers have?
- Farmers are calling for a number of other agricultural reforms,
- Including pensions for farmers,
- The adoption of the Swaminathan Commission's proposals,
- And a legal guarantee for MSP.
